Asymmetric semi-hull catamaran, with high hydrodynamic effectivenessA group of Italian researchers from University of Palermo has designed a catamaran. It is composed of two asymmetric semi-hulls, generating a convergent-divergent tunnel; it permits recovery of a part of the power spent by the ship, by means of the formation of a wave provoking a forward push. Next step is the construction of a hull travelling at remarkable speed and with limited fuel consumption. An industry is sought to build a prototype and introduce the catamaran on the European market.
